A holiday house, with the feeling of a mountain cottage in the middle of the village St. Jakob in Haus in Tirol, that’s “Dickies Hoff”.
A house where you feel if you are living in a past time. Where after a day of country life the fireplace gives you warmth and your soul can be at peace. Where skiers, cross-country skiers, walkers, mountain bikers, fisherman, hunters and other outdoor people are feeling good. Where people go on holiday and keep on coming back. Where guests become regular customers. Dickies Hoff is situated in the beautiful nature of the Pillerseetal in the Kitzbühler Alps.
House and location:
In 1898 Sebastian Schebester had permission by letter to build a forester house. This house was built and finished around 1930 in St. Jakob in Hause. We, Irene and Eric bought this house in august 2007.
Dickies Hoff was divided in two living houses. One for us and one for our guests. The holiday house has a living space of approximately 140 m2. Enough space for 10 people. Five bedrooms a comfortable living room with traditional ‘kamine’ two bathrooms a residential kitchen and a cellar bar. We choose to renovate the house thoroughly. Within our mind to keep the feeling of past time alive. Without leaving out the luxury of a modern kitchen a washing machine, radio, television and a barbecue.
We also thought about the children; there is a big closet with (board) games and toys.
The village supermarket is on the other side of the road and sells freshly-baked sandwiches for breakfast. The bus stop and two restaurants are nearby. There are several restaurants, pubs and discos in the neighbourhood.
The ski lift to the top of the Buchensteinwand is on walking distance and is open in the summer and winter.
In the summer you can make use of the free local tennis court.
If you are on the veranda or in the garden you have a perfect lookout on the surrounding mountains.
Is there a better place to have breakfast on this veranda in the morning sun?
The first and the last light of the day always gives something romantic in Pillerseetal. The colors are more intense. The mountaintops are because of the sun beautifully red colored. Nowhere else you experience the seasons better then here in Pillerseetal.
We, Irene and Erik are born in the Netherlands, married in Ireland and living in Austria.
We met in 1999 during winter sports in Kirchberg Tirol. We lived and worked in the Netherlands with joy. The quality of life here in Tirol is the reason that we left the Netherlands in 2007 and emigrate to the beautiful Pillerseetal. We left the city and quit are jobs. Because we both like to take on a new challenge we were determent to make Dickies Hoff a success.
The real ‘outdoor living’ was always, till now a dream of Eric. Irene also likes nature but for her it’s important that there are people around. Because of this we aren’t living on the top of the mountain but here in Dickies Hoff!
We both like to ski, walk and Après ski.
Irene likes to make her own clothing (also the traditional Dirndl).
Eric passion is fly fishing on trout.
We live where other people are having their holiday.
In the low season and in the summer it’s possible to come with a smaller number of people against a lower price at Dickies Hoff. In this case the bedrooms in de cellar aren’t used. In this way the guest has
